Go.Verizon.com Announces 4th Annual 50 Best Small Cities to Start a Small Business

Go.Verizon.com has released its report, “The Best Small Cities to Start a Small Business,” and the City of Leander has impressed again. The metrics Go.Verison.com analyzed when compiling their list of the top 50 small cities in the nation for small businesses included education level of the local workforce, in-city commute times, income per capita, broadband access, availability of SBA loans, and overall tax friendliness. From there, they weighted each factor on a 0-100 scale and compiled a ranking system for cities with populations between 50,000 and 75,000.

“This past year, small businesses have faced more uncertainty than ever before,” said Clayton Tarantino, a small business expert […]

Leander Shines in Headlines Again

The City of Leander has once again been praised in headlines as Culture Map examines the Homes.com rankings of the top suburbs to move to in 2021. Culture Map, a source for local lifestyle news for the state of Texas, noted that anyone considering a move to the Austin metro area should seriously consider Leander.

“With a median list price of $271,500, it’s far more affordable than the city of Austin, which just last month hit an all-time high median sale price of $515,000 and its work-from-home score of 1.4 — one of the highest in the study — means it’s one of the best for remote workers,” said Arden Ward, writer for Culture Map.

But what do […]

During the recent ice and snow storm, Leander HEB was among one of the many stores to aid in the impact the conditions had on Texans. When the power went out, the store gave away groceries instead of returning them to the shelves…this is just the way we do things around here!

Check out the NY Times story on them. We love our HEB!

COVID-19 Update: Governor Reopening Business & Lifting Mask Mandate

Governor Greg Abbott today issued an Executive Order (GA-34) lifting the mask mandate in Texas and increasing capacity of all businesses and facilities in the state to 100 percent.
“With the medical advancements of vaccines and antibody therapeutic drugs, Texas now has the tools to protect Texans from the virus,” said Governor Abbott. “We must now do more to restore livelihoods and normalcy for Texans by opening Texas 100 percent. Make no mistake, COVID-19 has not disappeared, but it is clear from the recoveries, vaccinations, reduced hospitalizations, and safe practices that Texans are using that state mandates are no longer needed. Today’s announcement does not abandon safe practices that Texans have mastered over the past year. Instead, it is a reminder […]
