Code of Conduct

As a Member of the Leander Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center, I/we recognize that membership is a privilege and that a membership brings with it the responsibility to assure that all members understand and commit to the following code of conduct.

The code of conduct shall, without limitation, require members and all participants of Chamber-sponsored programs to:

  • Abide by the Bylaws of the Chamber for any applicable programs of the Chamber. The Bylaws serve as the governing document for all programs and will supersede all other documents.
  • Refrain from publicly disparaging the business practices of fellow members and refrain from condoning or
    engaging in misrepresentation or unethical practices.
  • Conduct business and professional activities in a reputable manner so as to reflect honorably upon the business community and fellow Chamber members.
  • Respect the reputation, profile and status of the Chamber, and represent the Chamber accordingly.
  • The Chamber is fully committed to respect for differences. When dealing with others,
    members are expected to:Be respectful, fair and civil;
  • Speak candidly and truthfully;
  • Avoid all forms of harassment, illegal discrimination, threats, or violence.
  • Understand, support and promote the Vision and Mission of the Chamber and cooperate with
    fellow members in the application of this Code of Conduct.
  • Whenever reasonably possible, participate in the functions and activities of the Chamber.
  • Observe the highest standards of ethics in rendering services and/or offering products for sale, based on the
    members’ own knowledge and expertise.
  • Refrain from engaging in any practices prohibited by law or seeking unfair advantage over fellow members.
  • Present a true presentation in all advertising. 
  • Respect the role of the Chamber staff.

I/we also understand that the failure to adhere to the professional and personal obligations of the Chamber, as outlined above, and defined in the Chamber Bylaws, can result in the termination of my/our membership.

Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy

The Leander Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center (The Chamber) believes that a policy prohibiting discrimination, harassment or sexual harassment is in the best interests of our organization and our members. For this reason, it will be the policy of The Chamber to comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws relating to discrimination or harassment.

Chamber members should conduct themselves in a manner free of discrimination, harassment, or sexual harassment.

Members participating in Chamber activities that are found to have discriminated against a fellow chamber member or harassed them risk their participation in future chamber events and activities and/or even their membership to the chamber.New paragraph

Member Open for Business Program-

For Level 2 and higher members, we will:

  • We will do the research and onboarding of your business.
  • We will publish your business in its own mobile web app.
  • We will provide your business with their own texting keyword with number for app.
  • We will provide your business your own QR code for app.
  • We will add you to our Community Clicker.
  • We will add you to you Community Kiosks and business directories.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

We will help you plan and organize a ribbon cutting event in honor of your investment that is complete with the ceremonial scissors and ribbon, invitation to the elected officials and local VIPs, and promotion of your special event. To further market your business, the Chamber will post a photo and brief summary on our social media sites and in the local newspaper. Premier Associate members and below members pay $75 for this service.

Membership Directory

Chamber Members are listed by business category and by keyword search in our online directory. Most members receive 100-300 hits per year through our site. All members can track this through our member portal.

Community Calendar

Chamber Members can list their community related events free of charge in our online calendar.

Member-To-Member Discounts

Exchange discounts on products and services.

-Advertising Discounts for the Hill Country News. Ask in our office for details.

Business Programming

The Chamber offers free and discounted member programs such as Networking Connections, SCORE programs, and educational luncheons.

Business Referrals

When the Chamber receives inquiries regarding businesses in the region, we refer our Chamber members.

Community Development

The Chamber provides members with plaques and annual window decals to send a positive message about your business. Your commitment to the region is demonstrated by your membership in the largest, most influential business organization in our community.
