With an events lawn, covered lounge furniture and picnic tables, stage, jumbotron and covered pavilion, The HUB will become Leander’s premier family-friendly destination to grab a bite with friends, catch the big game or enjoy an outdoor concert – all in one central location. $1 Billion Project: Leander Springs Announced Today


Leander partners on proposed $1 billion development
featuring full-service hotel and 4-acre crystalline lagoon


On Thursday, Mayor Troy Hill announced the city’s partnership with Leander Springs
LLC to develop Leander Springs, a 78-acre mixed use project with retail, restaurants, entertainment,
hospitality, office, and residential components located at the southwest corner of FM 2243 and 183A.
Expectations are that a fully developed Leander Springs could be valued at $1 billion.

As part of an economic development agreement with Leander Springs LLC, the city approved up to $22
million in performance-based tax incentives for the project, which promises to construct a 4-acre
crystalline lagoon powered by Crystal Lagoons® technology and surrounded by 10 acres of boardwalk

Leander tops Census Bureau list of fastest-growing large U.S. cities from 2018-19

From 2018-19, Leander was the fastest-growing large city in the U.S., according to data made public late May 20 by the U.S. Census Bureau.

From July 1, 2018, to July 1, 2019, Leander’s population grew by 12% to 62,208 residents, according to census data.

Bridget Brandt, president and CEO of the Leander Chamber of Commerce, listed several reasons for Leander’s list-topping growth.

“Because Leander is simply amazing,” she said. “We have a great cost of living, an incredible variety of home options, an amazing school district, incredible health care and Hill Country views. It really can’t be beat.”

Wilco Forward COVID-19 Small Business Grant Program

Williamson County has launched Wilco Forward, a grant program funded through the approximately $93 million the County received from the CARES Act and pursuant to Texas Local Government Code Ch 381.
Applications will be accepted starting at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2020. The deadline for applications for Phase 1 is June 30, 2020.
