Small Business of the Year

The Leander Chamber of Commerce is proud to award Sharks Burger the Small Business of the Year Award for always donating to and supporting the Leander community.  Dino, the founder and owner of Sharks Burger, is an active ambassador for the Chamber and an incredible advocate for business in Leander.

Nonprofit of the Year

Congratulations to Leander Law Enforcement Association, the 2021 Nonprofit of the Year. Most people don’t even know they exist, but they are out at every event supporting our officers and our community. This year, they helped with the medical expenses for one of their own going through cancer treatments, and they raised funds for the family of the 911 operator victim, and they are a force behind Blue Santa.  We are lucky to have them supporting Leander behind the scenes.

Rookie of the Year (New Business)

Congratulations to TemperaturePro, the 2021 Rookie of the Year. Owner Carrie Palacios has taken an active role to give back to the community and launch their new business.  She is a chamber ambassador and spearheaded the Leadership Leander class of 2021 fundraising efforts. We are excited to see all of the great things they will do in Leander.

Ambassador of the Year

Please congratulate Marcia Back, our 2021 Ambassador of the Year. Marcia has served a total of 157 hours in service to the Leander Chamber, but her community activity does not stop there.  She was active in supporting local business during the pandemic, has been a mentor to many startups and is active in the Leander Citizens on Patrol.

Citizen of the Year

Congratulations to our Citizen of the Year, Charles E. Rouse. Mr. Rouse was principal of Leander High School for sixteen years, from 1981 to 1997, and tonight the Leander Chamber of Commerce is proud to name him Citizen of the Year for 2021. When Mr. Rouse first came to LHS, the school district was about to lose its accreditation with TEA. He was the catalyst that made LHS what it is today. He was instrumental in implementing many programs to enhance the lives of the students. He endeavored to build character in the students and helped them grow to be responsible and productive citizens. He has served on various committees and activities for the school district, including being a panel judge for the Senior Project. Through the years, he has remained supportive of the school district.

Congratulations to all!!!!
